Fireboy and Watergirl Elements: Seven Temples in One Adventure
Fireboy and Watergirl Elements is the fifth game in the much-loved puzzle series by Oslo Albet, and it takes a bold new route. Earlier episodes each built a game around one temple and one big idea. Fireboy and Watergirl Elements gathers seven temples into a single journey instead: four return from past games, and three are brand new. You can play the full adventure right here on FireboyandWatergirl.net, free in your browser, with no download.
The core rules of Fireboy and Watergirl Elements are unchanged. Fireboy is made of fire and Watergirl is made of water. Fireboy can walk through lava but must stay away from water. Watergirl can wade through water but burns up in lava. Green goo is deadly to both of them. Each level asks the pair to collect diamonds, work through buttons, levers and moving platforms, and reach their own exit doors. If either hero falls, the level restarts.
A Guided Walk Through the Temples of Elements
The journey begins in the Forest Temple, where the whole series started. Clearing levels there opens the doors to the other temples. This makes Elements feel like a greatest hits collection with a fresh twist, since each temple keeps its own colour scheme and puzzle style.
Four Familiar Temples, Remixed
The Forest Temple brings back the classic mix of pushable boxes, switches and lifts. The Light Temple asks you to turn mirrors so that beams of light hit the right sensors. The Ice Temple plays with grip: Fireboy melts the ice and slides quickly, while Watergirl keeps her footing and moves more slowly. The Crystal Temple adds portals that send the heroes across the map. These ideas will feel familiar, but the new levels in Fireboy and Watergirl Elements remix them in ways that keep you guessing.
Fire, Water and Wind: The New Arrivals
The three new temples are where Fireboy and Watergirl Elements really shows its own personality. The Fire Temple is packed with lava, so Fireboy takes the lead and clears a safe path for his partner. The Water Temple flips that idea around, letting Watergirl lead while Fireboy relies on her help. The Wind Temple adds fans and rising air that lift the pair up to higher ledges, so timing becomes the main challenge.
Getting Comfortable with the Controls
Fireboy and Watergirl Elements is built for two players sharing one keyboard, though you can also handle both heroes on your own.
Keys for Each Hero
Fireboy moves with the arrow keys: left and right to walk, and up to jump. Watergirl uses the A and D keys to walk and W to jump. There is no attack button and no inventory to organise. Every puzzle in Fireboy and Watergirl Elements is solved by moving, jumping and standing on the right spot at the right moment.
Playing Solo or with a Friend
With a friend, one person takes the arrow keys and the other takes WASD. Talking is your secret weapon: call out when you are on a button, and warn your partner before you pull a lever. Playing alone is harder, so park one hero in a safe spot, then guide the other forward.
Smart Habits for Every Elements Temple
These habits will help you clear Elements levels with fewer restarts.
- Study the whole screen before you move.
- Remember which temple you are in. In the Fire Temple, ask what Fireboy can do for Watergirl. In the Water Temple, ask the opposite.
- Practise short, controlled jumps near lava and water. One slip ends the run for both heroes.
- Watch the fans in the Wind Temple. Let the air carry you, then steer gently to land on the next ledge.
- Do not rush the boxes, since one pushed into the wrong pit can block your route.
- If a level feels too tough, finish it first and come back for the missing diamonds later.
Each level in Elements tracks your time as well as your diamonds, so speed matters if you want the top result. First, simply reach both doors. Once you know the layout, return and beat the clock with every diamond collected.
Where Fireboy and Watergirl Elements Sits in the Series
Oslo Albet launched the series with the Forest Temple in 2009, then followed it with the Light Temple in 2010, the Ice Temple in 2012 and the Crystal Temple in 2014. Each sequel added one main idea, such as mirrors, ice or portals. Fireboy and Watergirl Elements arrived on app stores in late 2018 and reached Steam in January 2019. A sixth game, Fairy Tales, came later.
Because it collects the best parts of four earlier games and adds three new temples, Elements works well as a starting point for newcomers and as a reunion for long-time fans. On FireboyandWatergirl.net, the Forest Temple lives on the homepage, and each of the other classic temples has its own page, so you can compare how each idea first appeared with how Fireboy and Watergirl Elements builds on it.
